Import from LastPass

Before you start

• Use a computer, not a phone. The export only works in the LastPass web vault.
• If you manage a team, each person exports their own vault, or a LastPass admin exports the shared folders.

Export from LastPass

1. Sign in to the LastPass web vault in your browser.
2. Choose Advanced options, then Export.
3. Enter your LastPass master password when asked.
4. LastPass downloads a .csv file. If it shows a page of text instead, copy all of it; you can paste it into Vikela in the next step.

Import into Vikela

1. Open the vault on a computer and sign in.
2. In the menu, choose Tools, then Import data.
3. Choose where the items go: My vault for your own passwords, or your team to share them. When you import into a team, folders become shared folders.
4. Under file format, choose LastPass (csv).
5. Choose the export file (or paste its contents), then select Import data.
6. Vikela shows how many items it brought in. Compare that number with your old password manager.

Finish up

• Delete the export file and empty your bin or Trash. It holds your passwords in plain text.
• Open a few important logins in Vikela and check they look right.
• Keep your old account for a week, then close it once you're happy nothing is missing.
